Introduction

Many SME need help in organizing the HR department, especially so the management function. Usually SME’s employ personnel with much knowledge and skill in that function, not knowing there are many systems and processes to follow. As such they learn and manage the department through trial and error. This department is crucial because the Ministry of Human Resource, through the Human Resource Development Corporation (PSMB) is pushing for capability and capacity building of employees for the nation. As such personnel who are appointed to manage this department should be competent in managing it.

Objective

By the end on the training program, participants should be able to manage the HR department in a SME environment.

Topics to be covered:

Day 1: Organization Development & Change

Understand how organization behavior and development takes place, inclusive of culture, process, system, environment change, structure and eventually management of change across the organization

Day 2: HR Planning, Recruitment, Selection & On Boarding

Understanding how, HR Planning, Recruitment and Selection is done through the use of comprehensive Job Description/Specification, Personality profiling and through a behavior interview technique, followed by On-Boarding

Day 3: Learning & Development

Developing capability and capacity of the employees are crucial. Participants will learn to identify organizational needs, design and deliver training programs and to evaluate the 4 levels of evaluation there in and to understand whether transfer of training has taken place within the organization

Day 4: Performance Management System-Balance Score Card-KRA-KPI

Employees must know how they are performing and how they should be performing. As such employees have clear goals, ‘KPI’ to perform their jobs, and line managers should also be trained how to appraise the employees

Day 5: Labor Laws & Industrial Relations

The HR department also acts as a compliant department, especially for employees. They enforce the Acts fairly and just and look into discipline at work. In this context, participants will undergo assessment of the various Acts in relation to the workplace

Methodology:
Various methodologies will be used; lectures, case study, group discussion, video clips, group presentation, short assignments and action plans after the program
